Your First Visit
By referring you to our office, your dentist has shown concern that you receive thoughtful, specialized endodontic care.
At Endodontic Studio | Oakton, our practice is limited to endodontics. This means our office is focused on diagnosing and treating tooth pain, infection, trauma, and complex root canal-related concerns. Our goal is to provide accurate diagnosis, clear communication, and comfortable care in a calm, boutique setting.
Every patient is unique, and we are committed to recommending care based on your individual needs, diagnosis, prognosis, and restorative goals. Above all, we want your visit to feel clear, comfortable, and supportive from start to finish.
Before Your Appointment
Please review this checklist before your visit:
Complete your online patient forms before your appointment so we can prepare for your visit.
Bring your dental insurance card and a photo ID.
Bring a list of your current medications and medical conditions.
Continue taking your routine medications as directed by your physician unless instructed otherwise.
If your dentist provided a referral form, x-rays, or other records, please bring them with you or have them sent to our office before your appointment.
If possible, avoid taking pain medication for 4–6 hours before your visit so we can perform the most accurate diagnostic testing.
Patients under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
Your Diagnostic Consultation
Your visit begins with a careful evaluation. We will review your medical and dental history, discuss your symptoms, perform clinical testing, and take any necessary imaging to establish a diagnosis.
After the evaluation, Dr. Safi will explain the findings, review your treatment options, and answer your questions. If root canal treatment or another endodontic procedure is recommended, we will discuss the reason for treatment, expected prognosis, and next steps.
In many cases, treatment may be completed the same day as the consultation. In other situations, treatment may be scheduled for a separate visit depending on the diagnosis, complexity of the case, medical considerations, or scheduling needs.
Comfort During Treatment
Your comfort is one of our highest priorities. Endodontic treatment is performed using local anesthesia, and our goal is to make the experience as comfortable and efficient as possible.
Please let us know before your appointment if you have any medical conditions that may affect treatment, such as diabetes, high blood pressure, heart conditions, artificial joints or heart valves, a history of bisphosphonate or osteoporosis medication use, blood thinner use, or if you require antibiotic premedication.
Technology and Precision
Endodontic Studio | Oakton uses modern technology to support accurate diagnosis and precise treatment. This may include digital radiographs, CBCT 3D imaging when appropriate, magnification, and specialized endodontic instruments.
These tools help us evaluate tooth anatomy, infection, cracks, resorption, prior root canal treatment, and other conditions that may not always be visible on traditional dental x-rays.
Our Goal
Our goal is to help you understand what is happening with your tooth and to provide treatment options that support your comfort, confidence, and long-term oral health. Through specialized endodontic care, many teeth that might otherwise be lost can be preserved.
